Psychology: Importance of Educational Psychology To Classroom Teacher

Psychology of education occupies major parts in the preparation of teaching which help teachers and learners to understand the behaviour of the learners and how they relate with learners. 

Educational psychology is important to the teachers and learners in the followings :

1. Helps teachers to understand the learner by knowing how children develop from infancy through childhood to adolescence and adulthood. 

2. Knowing the individual differences, how individuals differ in terms of growth, development and level of intelligence, etc. 

3. Understanding exceptional students and how to manage their deviant behaviours. 

4. Understanding problem associated with children's behaviour especially those cause by genetic or ecological factors. 

5. Helps teacher to improve teaching  and learning which can be achieved by the use of knowledge and variety techniques in teaching and learning, relating materials, strategies and methods to the developmental levels of learners. 

6.  Helps in assessing abilities, progress of teaching and learning. 

7. It facilitates understanding of teachers, provide criteria for making evaluation of teacher's strength and weakness. It also makes the teacher understanding what can influence or not.
